How to Get from Prague Airport (PRG) to Sinkuleho Dormitory

Traveling from Václav Havel Airport Prague to Sinkuleho kolej (Sinkuleho Dormitory) is quick and easy using Prague’s efficient public transport system. The entire journey takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

Step-by-Step Route

1. Board Trolleybus 59 at the Airport

Exit the arrivals hall and look for the bus stops situated directly in front of the terminals. You need to catch Trolleybus 59 (formerly bus 119).

  • Terminal 1: Exit F, look for the transit stands.
  • Terminal 2: Exit D, the stop is right in front.

2. Transfer at Nádraží Veleslavín

Stay on Trolleybus 59 until the final stop: Nádraží Veleslavín (approx. 17 minutes). Here, you will transfer to the subway (Metro).

  • Follow the prominent green signs pointing downwards to Metro Line A (Green Line).
  • Take the escalators or elevators down to the platform.

3. Take Metro Line A to Dejvická

Board the Metro A heading towards Depo Hostivař or Skalka. Ride for exactly 2 stops and get off at the Dejvická station.

4. Walk to Sinkuleho Dormitory

Sinkuleho kolej is located at Zikova 1903/13, just a 3-minute walk from the metro.

  • At Dejvická station, follow the exit signs for „Vysoké školy“ (Universities) or „Šolínova“ street.
  • Once at street level, head straight into the university campus area until you reach Zikova street.

Ticket Prices & Fares

You need a ticket that covers the Prague city zones (P, 0, B). A 90-minute ticket is highly recommended for this journey, giving you plenty of time for the transfer.

  • Adults (15+ years): 50 CZK (approx. 2 EUR) for 90 minutes.
  • Children (under 15 years):FREE!
    • Note for children aged 10 to 14: They must carry an official ID (like a passport or school ID with a photo and date of birth) to prove their age to ticket inspectors. Children under 10 do not need to show proof.

💡 Tips & Tricks for a Smooth Journey

  • Where to buy tickets: You can buy a paper ticket from the yellow ticket machines at the airport bus stop, at the Visitor Centre in the arrivals hall, or directly inside Trolleybus 59 using a contactless credit/debit card (look for the orange terminal inside).
  • Validate your ticket: If you buy a paper ticket, you must stamp it in the yellow validation machines before entering the bus or the metro paid zone. If you buy it via the contactless terminal inside the bus, it is already validated!

  • Luggage: Standard luggage is carried for free on Prague public transport.
